The 2023 Toyota Highlander delivers better fuel economy and performance thanks to its brand-new 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 265 hp and an impressive 310 pound-feet of torque. This engine replaces the outgoing V6 which had a bit more horsepower, but a higher fuel consumption rating as well. The new turbo gives you similar performance with enhanced efficiency. It will continue to be offered with a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, making it just as capable as the outgoing V6-powered Highlander.
The new 2023 Toyota Highlander will continue to be offered with a hybrid powertrain, a very popular option on the Highlander which provides 243 hp but more importantly, a fuel consumption rating of under 8 L per 100 km which is exceptional for a three-row SUV. Better yet, the Highlander Hybrid does not compromise capability with a 3,500-pound towing capacity.
The 2023 Toyota Highlander also features an improved infotainment system which allows for natural voice commands to interact with the system. This new system is housed in a larger centre display that measures 12.3 inches in the Limited and Platinum trims. A new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is also offered on the new 2023 Toyota Highlander.
